One more great book in this series, that's fast becoming a favorite of mine.

Zane Garrett and Ty Grady have difficulty dealing with the after-effects of their last case and in Zane's case, with recurring nightmares. When director Burns suggests, or more correctly, orders them to take a vacation, Ty asks Zane to join him in his visit to his family in West Virginia. While there, Ty's determined to show Zane the magnificence of the mountains by taking him on a hike along with his brother, Deyce, and his father, Earl. Zane soon discovers that the rest of the Grady family is at least as crazy as Ty. Ty's relationship with his dad, is the one that seems most difficult for Zane to comprehend and the fact that Earl doesn't seem to think much of Zane, doesn't bode well. However, the simple vacation on the mountain suddenly turns to something very dangerous when they accidentally stumble on a group of treasure hunters, determined to keep the hikers out of their territory even if it means killing them. What started as a simple hike, soon turns into a battle for their lives...

What can I say about the chemistry between Ty and Zane? It is simply amazing! This book delved deeper into the dynamics of their relationship, their respective insecurities and concerns, their growing feelings, fears and reservations, leaving the suspense behind for the first half. While that made the book a little slow at the beginning, the second half was simply so perfect that made me start book #3 straight away after it was over! I feel, this is one of the most realistically portrayed romances I've ever had the chance to read. Everything progresses so normally, so perfect in timing that I just can't stop believing those two are real, living people. And yet it's so full of passion, extasy, humor and heartache that you just can't enough of it! Both Ty and Zane are amazing characters, each with his own unique strengths and liabilities, and you can't help but care for them. I'm just so happy they found each other and that I found them!
